How do I get to this balcony overlooking the world?

Your panoramic base camp before the big leap

  • By car: Take the road toward the pass via Talloires or Doussard. Public parking is available (paid parking from May 1 through the end of September).
  • By bike: If you’ve got strong calves, tackle the legendary Col de la Forclaz! It’s a tough climb, but the 360° view at the top makes every pedal stroke worth it.
  • By bus: From Annecy, take bus line 20 toward Talloires (get off at the Talloires-Les Granges stop). From there, take the F1 shuttle to the Col de la Forclaz stop. This service runs daily in July and August and on weekends in June and September (one trip per hour).
  • On foot: For hiking enthusiasts, start from the hamlet of Verthier (Doussard) for an 11-km climb (moderate difficulty).

Absolutely! There are several restaurants nearby. Our partner, Le Balcon du Lac, serves Savoyard cuisine with a stunning view of Lake Annecy.

There aren't many designated picnic areas, but you can walk up to the takeoff point to enjoy your picnic while taking in the view.

No, vehicle access is restricted. You’ll need to park in the Col de la Forclaz parking lots and then walk for about 20 minutes. Follow the Crêt de la Forclaz trail: the climb is well worth the effort! A gate located a little further up restricts access to authorized vehicles.

Of course! It’s family-friendly, and the flights are suitable for even the youngest children (ages 3 and up).

Watch the planes take off, go for a walk, have a drink on a terrace, or simply enjoy the view of the lake… You won’t be bored!

Even in the summer, it can get a bit windy at higher elevations. Be sure to bring a windbreaker, especially for the flight!
